Fashion {advice} Friday

Here I am again, back with a Fashion Friday, asking for YOUR advice!  You will never find me giving fashion advice here.  I am the girl who wanders around Forever21 for an hour  trying to copy Pinterest outfits off my phone, and ends up leaving with a black shirt.

So it’s been years since I have dyed my hair and several months since I have cut it.  99.9% of the time you will see my hair in a ponytail or a top knot bun.  The other .1% of the time it’s down but a frizzy, air-dried mess.  I have SO much hair, so actually putting any effort into it would take at least 30 minutes….in 30 minutes I could shower, get dressed, make the kids breakfast, wash the dishes etc.  30 minutes is A LOT of time to “waste” on doing my hair.  But…I kind of want to!  Maybe not 30 minutes, but find some more creative and quick ways to make it look like I put in a little effort.

With summer approaching I’ve been toying with the idea of adding in some highlights to my hair again.  Lucky for me, it seems that someone out there has made having roots fashionable!  They added a fancy name of “ombre” to it, and viola!!…there is a hair-dye process I may actually be able to maintain.  So what do you think?  Should I go for it?  Is it too trendy? Will it look bad since I never really do my hair?

ombre hairOn the other hand, it looks very low maintenance {I’ve been told it actually looks better when you let it just grow out}, it may make me put in more effort if my hair has some fun color to it, and in the end it’s just hair…if I don’t like it I can dye it right back to my natural color. So what do you think?  Yay or Nay?  This mama needs a day at the salon like it’s nobody’s business!

What this mama also needs is to win the $100 gift card giveaway to ULTA that my friend Morgan is doing on her blog The818.  Head on over there and you can enter to win too!  There are lots of ways to get an entry…one way is to blog about it!  DONE. $100 worth of hair care products though?  I’m not even sure what I would do with all that!  I use $3 bottles of Garnier Fructis, so I could really use the upgrade.  Especially if I end up going for my fancy new, color-treated hair.  I look forward to getting some input!

I hope you all have a Fashionable Friday and an awesome weekend!! xo

I think you should give it a try if you want! You can always change it back! I like the bottom left one (Camila Alves?) because it looks a little more subtle.

Do it!! I think it would look gorgeous on you with your hair color and skin tone! It has also been a long time since I’ve done anything “fancy” to my hair other than an “all over color” and trim at the salon. I was considering doing ombre to change it up a bit and it does seem more manageable than having to touch up highlights every 6-8 weeks. And I agree, do it more subtly like Selena Gomez.

Ooh love this. From someone who’s never once colored her hair, I think you would look amazing. Can’t wait to see how it turns out. I really don’t think you can go wrong.

Do it!! It’ll be more maintenance than your used to (since you don’t color at all now) but it’ll be easy and fun :)
I haven’t decided what I’m doing yet, but I still think its trippy that we’re on the same wave length!
