Five on Friday: Favorite things addition

It’s been awhile since I’ve linked up for a 5 on Friday with Darci from The Good Life Blog, so I thought I would jump right back in and post some of my 5 new favorite items that have made their way into my life thanks to Santa (or thanks to me making a good wish list for Santa haha).  So without further ado, here are 5 of my new Friday Favorites…

{ONE}  I am pretty sure I am becoming that girl who owns way too many pairs of running shoes.  Ask me about my daily footwear and you will find beat up flip flops, some old boots, or Toms that look like they are one more step away from having to meet the garbage can.  I am NOT a shoe person.  Never have been, never will be.  My mind is quickly changing though when it comes to what I put on my feet during my workouts.  Meet my new pretties….The Nike Air Pegasus 30.  Greg told me the guy at the Nike store said this was one of the only two styles he would recommend for long distance running {btw did I tell you I signed up for another half marathon…that’s in 4 weeks?!?!?#dumb}.  Not going to lie…I’m staying true to my Brooks for running shoes, but I wanted some cute Nikes for the gym and these were my pick.  So far, so awesome!

{THREE} While I am on the topic of Sephora I thought I would share my new favorite skin care line!  I have been searching high and low for something that I actually see a difference with, and I think I have found it in the Ole Henriksen Instantly Ageless Kit.   The Power Peel you guys…I have no words!  You can buy them separately and I am for sure stocking up on them.  Just one peel and you just want to touch your skin and look at it all day.  And applying your makeup over the top of it?  Forget about it…instant glow!  I’m excited to stick with it and see if I have some long term improvement.  These kids are aging me…I need to step it up!

{FOUR}  Similar to my lack of style in the shoe department I am also that way with fashion in general.  I think I keep Old Navy in business (well maybe me and a few others too).  When it comes to workout clothing though, I have to go for the good stuff.  It keeps me motivated, makes me feel good, and when you find stuff that fits you comfortably you can concentrate more on your workouts and not worry about any clothing malfunctions or discomfort.  Meet Lululemon’s Dog Runner pants!  Unfortunately I can’t link you to them right now because they are all sold out.  They surprisingly had them on We Made Too Much last week, and they don’t currently have them listed.  I hope they come back!  It’s like wearing long Wunder Unders underneath a think waterproof outside layer.  You have the comfort and warmth of a tight legging, but the wind breaking and water resistance of the outer layer.  They are just so comfortable, keep me warm at my early morning bootcamp sessions, and they have awesome zipper pockets.  If you see these come back…GET SOME!

{FIVE}  We love Apple products in every way possible, but have never made the most important switch of them all.  The next product needs no introduction.  All I have to say is, where have you been all my life?  Anyone who owns their own business knows what the end of the year really means, so this wasn’t actually a gift from Santa…this was a gift to myself.   Hoping my new gadget will provide me with that extra motivation to pick it up and actually post here more often in 2014!

I’m very frugal, never go shopping, and don’t really ever have the need/want to do/have nice things for myself.  This is most definitely all a result of having children.  Thank you Santa for making me feel special this Christmas….while it’s not about the gifts in particular, all mamas like to feel like they still have some “things” that are all their own (that have yet to be destroyed by sticky fingers).  Whether it came in the form of some quiet time, a sweet gesture, or a thoughtful gift I hope you all felt a little pampered this holiday season!

Found you on the link up! :) And oh my gosh, I have those Nikes too (in the grey and coral color) and they are AMAZING. They have so much cushion, in a way I hate wearing them because I don’t want to ruin them.. haha! Have a great weekend!

You work so hard and are such a rockstar mama you deserve MANY treats! That new compy is a beauty!! Love my Mac and that it takes a beating (unfortunately) from the kiddos and keeps on ticking! I love Naked palettes and you really cannot go wrong with any of them! I have heard such good things about Ole Henriksen, I definitely need to check it out! Happy last weekend before cleansing!

I’ve heard a lot of people like the Naked2 palette more. I, on the other hand, have no idea how to even use the palettes. Haha. Maybe a tutorial?
