How to get a Stitch Fix Slam Dunk!

It’s no secret around here that I have a complete obsession with Stitch Fix.  Even though I usually only keep a few items from each fix, I am more than happy with this service and keep coming back for more.

For those of you who have never heard of Stitch Fix let me quickly explain the awesomeness that it is.  You create a very fun and personalized style profile, schedule a “fix” for a $20.00 styling fee, and then wait for the most exciting package to arrive at your doorstep that an expert stylist has put together based on your profile.  You can try everything on in the comfort of your own home, with your own accessories, shoes, and existing clothing and really get a feel for what you like and don’t like.  What you like you keep, what you don’t you send back in a prepaid envelope and that’s that.  Your $20 styling fee goes towards your purchase and if you keep all your items you get a 25% discount on everything!!   Plus if you are as excited about it as I am, you get your own referral link that you can pass along to your friends and family to give it a try too!  If they schedule a fix you get a $25.00 credit to use towards your next styling fee or purchase.

Now I want to give you a little tip that really perfected my most recent “fix”.  I created a Pinterest folder that I name “My Stitch Fix Style” and pinned photos of clothing I liked and also pinned specific items from Stitch Fix that other bloggers have shared.  I left little comments on each photo about what I liked about them and basically begged for one of their studded 3/4 sleeve tops.  I then submitted this link to my stylist under my style profile and waited to see what the result would be.  And that my friends is how I got a Stitch Fix Slam Dunk!!  Not only did I get a couple of items I specifically was hoping for, they of course added some others that they thought I would like based on my Pinterest board.  I.loved.it.all!!!

You know how I usually ask for opinions and basically follow everything bit of advice you provide?  Well, this time I already took all the tags off and they are all hanging up in my closest…I am hoping you agree with my decision to keep everything.  So here you go…check out all my keepers!

{ 1 } – Bay to Baubles- Jessa Delicate Circle Charm Necklace- $32.00.  Status: KEPT

Haven’t really wanted accessories in my past fixes but was pleasantly surprised by this.  I will totally wear this all the time.  You can adjust it to different lengths and I love how dainty it is.

{ 2 }- Le Sample- Kahlo Embroidered Racerback Tank – $48.00 Status: KEPT

This shirt was definitely in my Pinterest folder, but not in this colorway.  I wasn’t sure what I thought of it at first, but as soon as I put it on I knew it was a keeper.  It’s great fabric and I love the embroidery and the racerback!

{ 3 } – Collective Concept- Mora Cut-Out Detail Blouse $68.00  Status: KEPT

When I pulled this out of the box I wasn’t sure if I would keep it, but definitely liked it a lot more after I tried it on.  I love the color and the cutout detail is really cute!  If I wasn’t going to keep everything this might of have gone back, but it was well worth keeping for the 25% off.

{ 4 }- 41Hawthorn- Moni Stud Detailed 3/4 Sleeve Blouse – $58.00 Status:  KEPT

I don’t know what else to say besides that I am in love with this shirt.  The fabric is amazing, I love the detail of the studs, and I always love anything black so this shirt was mine before I even tried it on. LOVE!

{ 5 } – Christ & Carol- Evann Solid Maxi Skirt – $58.00 Status: KEPT

You can’t beat a classic, roll-down waist, black maxi skirt.  Could I find one that is less expensive?  Probably!  But this was sent to my house, fit perfectly, is a great fabric, and the convenience factor alone made it a keeper!

Just when I thought I couldn’t possibly love Stitch Fix more, I went and got a fix that was perfect and required no trip to the post office.  I am all about efficiency and let me tell you, nothing drives me more crazy than mindlessly wandering the mall to only come home with one item that I could have easily bought online….waste.of.precious.time.  Being a busy work-at-home mama has really made me figure out ways to take short-cuts, and this is my very favorite of them all.

Speaking of wasting time…who wants to read about what I got when you can have your own fix?  First head over and fill out your personalized Style Profile, and when you are done that, definitely do the Pinterest trick!  It’s just one more layer that will really give your stylist an idea of what you like.  Stitch Fix has gained major popularity so even if you don’t think you’re ready for a fix just yet I would schedule when you think you might want one because they are already booked up until mid June.  I’m actually about to go schedule my next one now….see you over there! :)

So at your encouragement, I’m going back into my Stitch Fix profile and thinking about (maybe… ehhh) scheduling a Fix. I’m wondering if you wouldn’t mind sharing some of your profile with me/us? I’m on the part about how I generally wear my clothes – and it’s like form-fitted, showing my body, straight, loose, etc. – and while I don’t like my clothes like a huge tent, I don’t tend to wear super form-fitted stuff either… seems like you’re in the same camp? I wasn’t sure if “straight” would be too loose also?

Hi Kara!! Yay I hope you get another fix, I would love to see what you end up with! I actually have mine set to “mostly loose” but they still have send some fitted dresses & sweatshirts. I wonder if much will change if I set it to “straight”. I think your best bet is your Pinterest Style folder. They totally nailed it once I set that up for them! Let me know when your fix is coming in! :)

Where did you get that lovely floral, kimono-looking top that you are wearing with the black maxi skirt? It’s beautiful!

    • lauren says

Aww thanks! It’s actually from Nordstrom but I don’t see it anymore online. It’s from the company “Band of Gypsies” They have some really cute other options though. Same style just different fabric. I love throwing it on…adds a fun pop of color just like a scarf would!

I know I’m a year late to this post ;), but I LOVE every single item in your Fix!! I actually just received the same necklace in my last fix about 2 weeks ago, and was also pleasantly surprised — it looks so simple but I LOVED it when I put it on! I’ve only worn it maybe 10 days and noticed that the gold plating seems to be coming off already… Did you have the same problem? I’m going to write to let them know but was just curious if you experience led the same issue. PS your hair is beautiful!! :)
