Treat Yourself Tuesday

Since I am posting way late in the day I am going to get right into this Treat Yourself Tuesday post and link up with Becky over at Olives ‘n Wine.  If you are new to TYT it’s a rather simple but very important concept….treat yourself!!  Any way you see fit, and do it without the slightest bit of guilt.  Big….small…no gesture will go unnoticed since it’s something you are doing for YOU!  I hope all of you have found some ways to treat yourself this past week because you deserve it!

Here are a few ways that I brought a smile to my face over the last few days….

{1}  Four words….Ole. Henriksen. Power. Peel.  If you haven’t tried this professional-grade microdermabrasion and acid peel treatment do so this very moment.  I am truly obsessed with this product.  I gave myself two treatments this past week AND bought more yesterday.  I love doing one before a date night or night out with the girls because seriously your face glows and your makeup goes on flawlessly after.  It may seem a little pricey but take my word and don’t use and whole packet strip for one treatment…I can get about 3 masks out of each strip, so try and do the same.  You will LOVE it!!  Talk about a treat for yourself and your skin!

{2}  Speaking of skincare, my good friend Jill launched her new Rodan + Fields business with a party this past Sunday and we all had such a great time.  Drinks, apps, girl time, skin products, raffles…chocolate!!!  What’s not to love about some time with your girlfriends?  Getting together with your friends, who are also busy mamas, is such a great stress release and really is something I think is SO important to one’s sanity!  Not only did I treat myself to some fabulous girl time but I also picked out a couple of products I wanted to try, I can’t wait to get them and of course share my thoughts with you all!  Lip serum and sunless tanner…sign me up!

{3}  Since I seem to be on a beauty product kick I have confession for you all.  I use $3 shampoo and conditioner!  Like the cheapest brand on the shelf, and I get it when it’s on sale  :::gasp:::  I guess I figure since my hair is up 99.9% of the time who really cares what I wash it with…….WRONG!  My hair is falling apart.  Dry, split ends, you name it.  I totally need to treat myself to a haircut but first I decided it was time to step it up just a little bit in the shampoo department.  I just ordered this online (do I ever shop in stores anymore??) and I am excited to try something new.  I know all you moms agree that even getting to start your day with a shower is a treat in and of itself, but how much better will it be with some great hair products?  Excited for some hair pampering!

{4}  Alright so once is a blue moon I do actually do my hair.  Have you seen my hair wand tutorial?  Chances are that if you see me with styled hair I have some fun plans….and this past Saturday I did!  Date night…turned double date night!  The weather was GORGEOUS so Greg and I decided to hit up Laguna Beach for some sunset cocktails, apps, live music and friends.  It was a great night…and just important as I think time with your girlfriends is for sanity, time with your spouse is the same!  We have been upping our date nights and I can’t even tell you what a treat it is to spend time together where we can actually hear the other talk.  Plus, would you look at that view?  HEAVEN!

{5}  So really this next goodie should just be included in my date night photo but really it was deserving of it’s own little shoutout.  I had THE most delicious raspberry mojito when we were out Saturday night!  I can’t stop thinking about it.  It was summer in a glass and I am going to have to find a way to recreate it myself.  AMAZE…id actually like to treat myself to one this very moment!

{6}  You’re probably thinking all my treats involve time away from my kiddos….well, let’s be honest, those moments are rare so I am definitely going to highlight the ME time in these TYT posts.  Really though my favorite treat this entire past week was heading out as a family to Nathan’s first golf lesson.   We all had perma grins from watching him, and from seeing Shane want to follow right in his big brother’s footsteps.  Your heart just swells when you see how happy your kids are doing something they love!  Already counting down until next week’s lesson.

That’s all for this Treat Yourself Tuesday!  This has become one of the only posts I can commit to each week because I love it so much….if you haven’t before, you should totally head over to Becky’s blog and start linking up with us too!  It’s a great way to pay attention to the things that make you happy and find the time to do them!  Hope you are all having a great start to the week and are making some time to treat yourself!

Lauren, if you knew how much I just spent on facial moisturizer (cough *$120* cough… Don’t tell Kyle…), your Power Peels seem like a STEAL! I’m totally going to check those out. One of my girlfriends recently told me about Rodan & Fields foaming self-tanner – it looks amazing on her so I might need to try some for my Chicago winter skin ;)
