You will probably never see a fashion post from me unless it revolves around gym clothes and sneakers. I’m here asking for fashion advice this Friday, because I am the last person who should be giving any.
You know that Bachelorette party I went to a few weeks ago? Well that lovely lady is having her wedding in a month and this mama needs a dress! Have you guys ever used Rent The Runway before? You can rent designer dresses for a fraction of the price. Your dress gets delivered to you (with a free backup size), you keep it for 3 days, party the night away in it, throw it into the return envelope they give you, and toss it into the mail when you’re done. I think my favorite part is that real women share photos of themselves in the dresses that they rented. That way you can find someone who has a similar build and gauge which style and size would fit you best. I’ve had such a great experience with the company that I’m definitely using them again for this upcoming wedding.
I put in the date that I need it for and the search results came back with over 1500 dresses for me to choose from. I could have continued to filter my options but I wanted to look at every single dress just to know I didn’t miss anything. I’ve narrowed it down to 5 possibilities and this is where I would love some help. Please, if you have a second, leave me a comment with which dress is your favorite. If you think I should go back to the drawing board, you can tell me that too! I promise to not be offended.
Let me tell you a little about the wedding. It’s in June, during the late afternoon/evening on a beautiful ranch outside of Santa Barbara, CA. Her wedding is going to be GORGEOUS, elegant, but still have that vintage/rustic outdoor element to it. Whatever dress I go with will be worn with flats or wedges because of walking out in the grass so keep that in mind.

I’m pretty sure you get $25.00 off your first rental which is great considering a good majority of the rentals start at $50.00.

This is such a cool concept – you can totally wear any of them. I can’t wait to see what you choose.
But from the least fashionable reader and friend you will ever have… I’m drawn to the yellow ones for some reason. I think my favorite is the strapless yellow but I do really like the white and yellow as well.

I vote for the yellow one. The others are beautiful but too dressy given the rustic/outdoorsy feel of the wedding. I also think that dress will look best with flats or wedges.

Whew.. Glad others liked #2 as well. Been to quite a few weddings in the past 2 yrs… Don’t see gowns on hardly anyone… (If I was the only one who said 2, you would have eliminated it. Lol XO)

I sort of like 1! I never think yellow when I think elegant, and you’ve been working so hard at your body that I think you should show it off!

I am totally with Liz that you’ve been working hard and need to show off. My vote is 1 (because you would really get to show off your bod) or 5 (because that is what I would wear – like you said, totally in the comfort zone!).

So glad you picked the yellow, that would have been my top choice for a Santa Barbara June wedding too! I love Rent the Runway…almost had my bridesmaids rent a designer gown for my wedding. Can’t wait to see the pictures of you in that yellow dress this summer!
